A new coronavirus outbreak in China has now been identified in other countries, and authorities have recently traced its spread to the US.

The WHO said on Monday that an initial team of experts had been sent to China to lay the groundwork for a larger international team to stop the outbreak of the coronavirus.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 45,000 people worldwide have been infected with the viral respiratory disease so far this year, including 1,100 in the United States, surpassing the previous high of 2,500 cases in 2014.
